Dipstick can't find the dipstick

2005 Renault Megane Saloon.
I have a Haynes Manual with a picture of the engine compartment with an arrow pointing to where it should be and I still can't find it!

I know that Renault are notorious for putting things in hard to reach places - but this is ridiculous.

Any help in finding it?

Honestly please dont tell me you used a haynes manual to find the dipstick

Well....... you would think that you would just pop the bonnet and see it.
In this case.....no!

So, I checked the manual - I still can't find it

It cant be that hard to find its usually in somewhere around the exhaust Manifold post a pic of the engine bay

Maybe at some time in the past some other 'dipstick' checked the oil and left it lying somewhere in the engine compartment and it fell out, or just didn't put it back? Woudn't be the first time.

I did check the cap and it is not there. Doesn't look like it should be there either
