    Mrs. Longlegs wants to get a macbook for college. Any good deals going for students that anyone knows about?

    student discount - 10%, more depending on college... go to the edu store. got a new mbp for 1080 with it

    Yeah, the regular student discount is about 7 percent or so and is available through Apple's website. Then there's the Apple on Campus discount for university students which is usually about 10 percent and is accessed from the respective college website.

    Unfortunately you missed out on the Back to School offer that Apple do every year: buy an iPod and get the cost (minus tax) rebated. It ended in the first week of September. There's often a similar rebate offered on all-in-one printers but that seems to be over as well. The summer is the best time to be buying for college.

    If you can't avail of the university discount, you might want to consider going the refurbished route - discounts of 14-20 percent available.
