Friend with a dental predicament

I met a friend of mine last week and he seemed to be in a lot of pain with his teeth. He told me he can't afford to go to the dentist as he's a stay at home dad and isn't on the dole. His wife is working so he's not entitled to a medical card either. Her income just about covers the bills.

Is there anything he can do? The only thing I could think of was skill swap, but I don't know if dentists take part in that.

    Any ideas?

whats the skill he can swap? Try the dental hospital it still charges but is less expensive, waiting list are long.

He's a writer and storyteller which is probably limiting.

What's the dental hospital? Is it a particular place or a clinic?

he could offer to sit in the dentist's waiting room and tell little children to look after their teeth or else end up like him :).

But I don't think the Revenue people look favourably on bartering.

The dental hospital is where dentists are trained. They need patients to learn on so work is done at a discount (under supervision).
