    Hi all,
need to connect up an oil boiler for the folks next week, I'm a bit rusty on the regs!
    Q's
    1. should it be on the rcd
    2. what size mcb (10 amp?)
    3. does it have to be through a fused spur
    4. do i need a local isolation
I am going to use a wireless stat/reciever to control boiler..

    Thanks in advance..

domestic pumps require 30ma protection so you'll have to rcd it.

isolate all lives within 2m via a switched spur or rotary isolator

Would an ip rated socket/plug suffice for the isolation?

afaik a plug/socket is ok for 'local isolation'-couldn't see why not

if there's a permanent feed you'd need an isolator or the heating switched spur

    Thanks again..

Was just planning on controlling via a wireless stat, when would you have/need a permanent feed?

    some oil boilers have it

    over-run or frost protection
