    Hi just a quick question,

I have a sim free Iphone 4 arriving next week :D so I popped into a meteor store yesterday to get a microsim & the man said that if when I get the phone & I go into 02 or vodafone ect ask them I want to keep my number and then move back to meteor the next day I get €240 free credit?

has anyone experienced this or is it worth all the hassle instead of just poping in a meteor micro-sim? and does anyone know why meteor do this is it because your a new customer then instead of them just giving you a swap to a micro-sim? or a reward because meteor do not do the iphone? im pay as you go but that shouldnt make a difference as the phone is ordered sim free from the irish apple store. (couldnt find a thread so if this has already been answered of discussed please link me :))

    thanks for your replys :)

hiya thanks for that, seems to good to be true alright, I might just get a micro-sim off meteor save the hassle as I wouldnt really use that much credit and as far as I know you cant use your phone credit to make purchases for the iphone? for example I couldnt use the €240 to buy apps and music from itunes?

no you cant, as you say. network credit is totally different to buying from apple.

    Bulls*it

Iv ported from Meteor to vodafone and straight back to meteor again to avail of an offer that was for new customers only. All in the space of 20mins.

Just make sure you actually go to the individual stores. Obviously CPW arent going to allow you exploit the situation.

meteor are giving 240 credit BUT only if you port when buying a meteor phone id be very surprised if they give you 240 for the sake of the microsim price, also you have to top up by 20 euro each month to get the free credit, and as fudgez says you have to be on the network for 30 days, now as far as i know you can move back to your previous network if unhappy with your new one but it will take at least 48 hrs and you will have to buy a new sim

Thanks guys im currently on meteor and the phone is sim free im getting from apple so I think il just get a microsim as I only use about €20 a month credit to get the free texts ect and the €240 credit wouldnt be used as you cant use it for purchases & as its sim free if im not happy on meteor then il have no problem moving :D

doesnt matter, once you use a tiny bit, you will be charges 99c straight away per day. use a tiny bit every day and that 30.00e per month before you even make a call.

apps run in the background, email gets pushed through without you doing anything, imo it would be best to budget for a data plan too.

Depends on the app and if push notifications are turned on ect I wouldnt even use mobile internet everyday & iv never used up my credit when I have plus if theres no credit in the phone the emails wont be retrieved ;) all I want is my €20 a month to get my free texts ect no pushed with mobile internet :D and if the credit does go il just buy more not the end of the world thats the joys of a pay as you go phone :P
