backdating benefits

    In april I came home england where i had been working for 2 years... applied for benefits... long story short it took me ages to get all my documentation in order as there were many delays from last employer etc... anyway eventually got all i needed and cliam has been accepted just today... but they wont back date it unless i show "substantial proof" i have been looking for work... i dont have this as any proof i had has been thrown out or because i have worked alot in retail i have just been handing in cvs to shops and they dont get back to you unless you are called for interview which i havent... anyone have any advice on how i can try get my backdate as i have borrowed from friends and family and need to repay their kindness asap!!!

    have u emailed for any of these jobs, surely u must have.

    i gave the email addresses of the jobs i applied for and thats all i needed, they didnt look for anything else, so if you have emailed any of the jobs you applied for, give them the addresses and tell them what type job it was and you should be good

    just ring up the shops you sent in c.vs to and ask them to send you a letter proving that you applied for a job. most shops keep c.vs on file and it is a common request these days
