Will white spirts be ok to remove the anti-corrosion protection on a new set of discs ?

i would of thought that by driving them, is good enough.

i havent changed much discs tbh but when i dod get the done i just drove and lightly braked for a few miles afterwards. *

    * - unless of course, the guy who fitted them for me, cleaned them first.

Get a spray can of brake & clutch cleaner and clean them thoroughly - you don't want that anti-corrosion stuff on your pads. LIDL may have some left with their car-cleaning stuff or if not try any motor factors.

Should be, its an alternative to a Petrolium solvent. Although a can of Disc cleaner will set you back around 3 euros so I don't see why you'd bother.

Remember to clean the hub surface thoroughly, don't get the disc cleaner on the rubber components of the caliper.

Don't bend the brake lines, support the caliper on something if you have to remove it.

Put some copper grease on the hub before you put the disc on, and the moving parts of the caliper, also behind the pads.

Before you put the wheel back on the ground give it a turn and make sure the dust cover isnt rubbing off the new disc.

Make sure everything is tightened up and finally make sure you pump the brake pedal a few times until its hard.

Brake Cleaner and 400 grit sand paper is what I use, just enough to score it. Unless specified as Pad safe, you shouldnt just pop discs on.

No, it's not actually. Use a proper brake cleaner, as mentioned.

White spirit, being a paraffin derivative, may in fact leave an oily film behind. Def don't want that on brakes !

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
