A little advice on which TV

    Hi guys (and gals!)

First post on the HE board. Basically looking to replace my current Samsung UE40B550 and figured you guys might be able to help out/have some experience with what I'm looking at.

Been doing alot of research (not a videophile by any means, just picky and want to make the right choice wink.gif) and seem to be coming to the conclusion that a 40-47" full array local dimming LED would suit best (although I'm still kinda open minded...did someone say Panasonic VT20 biggrin.gif). The TV will be used mainly for SD and HD (Sky), gaming (med/low input lag requirement) and Bluray. Not that interested in the 3D side of things yet (though I could be swayed) as the technology seems to be a work in progress from most info/reviews and I'd prefer to spend the extra money it'll cost on a TV with better PQ.

Anyhoo had my eye on these two TV's in particular so be interested in your opinions/recomendations:

    LG LE8900 (42 and 47" models)
Philips 40PFL9704 (Seems awfully high priced, any ideas why!?)

Also been looking at the 2010 Samsung C6, 7 & 8 series..would you recommend them ahead of the other two? (I know its all relative/personal but y'know what I mean, 2D PQ being most important). Also if there are any glaring omissions in or around this price range of €1500 (Sony's maybe?) then I'm all ears.

    Thanks in advance guys! biggrin.gif

If you are after PQ, then the glaring omission would be Panasonic Plasma :D

Great for gaming as there is next to no lag.

Hey cnocbui, cheers for the reply!

After some more research and talking to a guy in D.I.D Electrical who actually had some knowledge/personal experience to offer other than that relating to energy efficiency (since when is that a major selling point ) i've totally swayed and am now almost sure i'm gonna go for one of the new Panny's from Richersounds (TX-P42VT20 to be exact :D).

Only buzz is i've been a little shaken after readin some of the comments on HDTVtest.co.uk...Although the reviewer and many other reviews have noted the incredibly low input lag (~17ms) quite a few actual customers (post reviews) have had issues with this (some sayin they have up to 80ms at times..even in game mode). Also people havin issues with image blurring watchin football meaning ya have to turn on their motion processing (Intelligent Frame Creation) which is never a good thing to have to do with plasmas (apparently it's a source issue to do with sky transmitting @ 50hz :().

Anyhoo suppose just wanted to check if you have any experience with this model/set!?
