I've noticed what appears to be an increase in drivers not wearing seatbelts recently and also parents belted up but the kids unrestrained.

Are people getting more stupid in this country or am I missing some fancy new trend?

    Has anyone else noticed this?

I notice a lot of people with unrestrained children driving around alright. See them standing up in the back of the car - God help them if theres a collision.

In my car, if I or a passenger removes their seatbelt the car makes a very annoying bing bing bing noise, so driving without a seatbelt is out of the question unless you wear earplugs!

Maybe its hard to keep the kids belted up, I dont know as I dont have any kids myself - but its terribly dangerous!

I've noticed this quite a lot myself! Twice today I was behind a people carrier with at least one child, on both occasions, standing up and looking out the back window!

If a passenger in my car is found to be un-belted, then I'll generally slow down as usual but force the last 2mph stop so they jerk forward a bit, they cop on then how easy it is if I was to crash!

Well, they can be as stupid as they like when it's their own safety, but putting their children at risk like that goes beyond stupid.

I also see lots of cars driving around with small dogs asleep on the parcel shelf.
    Canine through the windscreen anyone?

Not wearing a seatbelt feels wrong,

A friend of mine never puts it on, I have a Volvo so it BINGS repeatedly and then BINGS louder, drives me nuts, refuse to drive anywhere with anyone that won't wear a seabelt.

Have seen people with the belt around the back of the seat while clipped in to get around the warning feature.
