Hello I'd appreciate any advice on this laptop,
    Technical Specifications
    TOSHIBA 17.3inch AMD 2GB 320 HDD
AMD ATHLON DUAL CORE P320 2.1GHZ
    2GB RAM
    320GB HARD DISK DRIVE
    17.3inch TRUBRITE SCREEN
    WIRELESS N FOR FAST BROADBAND
    BUILT IN WEB CAM
    WINDOWS 7

Guarantee : 1 Year Parts and Labour

I like the idea of the 17.3 screen, don't really know too much about these gadgets, but would this have the same graphics card as the hp pavillion dv9xxx, I don't want to make the same mistake twice.
I'm limited to buying in Powercity.
    Budget region €650.
    Thanks

I've had for the past year a Toshiba with 16" HD TruBrite screen, with Duo core 2.2 T6600, Nvidia GT 230M with 1GB dedicated, FSB 1GB, 64bit, with memory upgraded from 4 to 8 GB, 400 GB HDD, Windows 7, that I am happy with. I am not a hard core gamer, but most games run just fine on it, especially Dragon Age Origins and Awakening. Since recently buying a Toshiba 10" netbook for university, I now use the laptop as a base station behind a NAT equipped router/switch and hardware firewall, installed atop a large fan cooling pad, as it would tend to get a bit warm when playing games.

For me your 2GB RAM would be a bit light, as Windows 7 will suck up about half of it (no matter what MS claims).

I bought the above Toshiba on sale from a major electronics chain in the States well under your "budget region €650," but with the memory upgrade from 4 to 8GB (with only 2 slots) would probably fall close to your budget.

I'm not too sure but if the graphics card isn't mentioned in the specs then you are getting a generic integrated card. These will always be basic.
You need to find a Toshiba with a 'discreet' or 'dedicated' graphics card. There are a few around that price range. I saw several in PC world recently, I would assume PowerCity should have a similar range.

    I looked at the Toshiba C650-12J at E520, L650-12Q at E700 and the L505-144 at E700.

I have bought 3 Toshiba laptops and was/am very happy with all of them. So currently looking at replacing No.2 with a new one. No.3 is the 10" netbook for the missus.......
