I noticed at Mullingar IMC at the weekend that theres a special rate for the unemployed. I didn't know this so if there are others who wern't aware it's a decent offer for people watching there few euros.

    Fair play to them!

How can they tell if you are unemployed though? What's to stop anyone from saying they are out of work?

It's during normal working hours. It helps them as much as it would help you. Better off having people in seats, than running an empty cinema.

I can't imagine they will try to check if your unemployed or not.

Hmmm, this is a good idea, but it seems like it needs a little extra care in it's presentation.

As it is... people will argue/discuss whether it say applies to a working person on a day off... some unemployed people will worry that they have to walk up and say my name is Joe and I'm unemployed...

Better just to say that they have a new pre-5pm Matinee system, which they hope can bring some entertainment to the unemployed and anyone with free time.

    Ix.

People could just show their receipt from the Post Office.

Pretty sure you need a "Live4Less" card to get this (http://www.live4less.ie/going-out.html) which costs €10. It was mentioned on the IMC website, although they seemed to have removed any mention about it, apart from a small link in the rates page.

Also, remember if you're on O2, the treats page has a a weekly €4 voucher for IMC dun laoghaire as well as the screen and savoy cinemas in town and the swan in rathmines and a lot of other cinemas around the country (look under "entertainment" on the treats page). btw, valid monday to thursday
