    Hey guys

Im moving into Milltown and I work in the IFSC. Looking at dublinbus.ie and it seems bus no. 44 is the the one that will drop me closest to there at pearse st dart station.

Has anyone got this bus before? Im looking to be in work for 8 am. How long approx does it take to get into the city?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

You also have the 48A, but tell the driver your going to pearse as at times the controller diverts it via Suffolk st when late.
Off peak 20mins, +10 at peak.

It depends on where you are going to live in Milltown?

At the moment the options are:

    1) LUAS from Milltown to St Stephen's Green and walk or 128 bus to Connolly Station.

    2) 44 or 48a bus from Milltown Road to Pearse Station and walk.
(Times are at 44 and 48a)

    3) 11 / 11a / 11b bus from Sandford Road to Westmoreland Street and walk. The timetables are here - 11 and 11a and 11b

Note - both the 44 and 48a buses are not that regular. The 0640 48a departure from Ballinteer will get into Westland Row for about 0715 (passing Milltown at about 0650/0655) and the 0720 departure will get there for about 0800 (passing Milltown at 0735ish).

The only 44 that will get you in for 0800 is the 0630 departure from Enniskerry, which is due to leave the city on its outward journey for 0750. I would expect that bus to pass Milltown somewhere about 0710 or so, and should get into the city for 0730/0735 but that is an approximate guess on my part!

The 11 group is a bit more frequent - the 0700 departure from Kilmacud should be on Sandford Road for 0715/0720 arriving into Westmoreland Street 15/20 minutes later.

However, the most frequent option is the LUAS - time taken from Milltown to St Stephen's Green is about 10 minutes.

SickCert - I think that the amount of times that the 48a is EVER late is countable on one finger!!! And certainly not pre-0800.

It is the other extreme to the 145 in terms of running time!

Thanks for the replys guys. I'll be moving into Shanagarry so I think the closest bus stop is at the school.

That is just down from the Milltown LUAS stop.

Taking the LUAS is a no-brainer - you've a longer walk in the city centre, but as I suggested there is the 128 bus from the top of Dawson Street to Connolly Station.

It runs every 10-15 minutes from Palmerston Park. Times are here

Allow about 15 minutes to get to Dawson Street pre-0800 from Palmerston Park.
