Anyone hear anything of who may be coming from abroad?
Last years winner was 3rd in Chicago behind the top two marathon runners in the world so surely thats a good advertisment for coming here.

Will it be Russian/former Russian statesmen/women to clean up or are there any young unknown Africans on the way?

I have a feeling that Feyisa Lelisa has opened the flood gates for the Africans coming into the race. Alot of the big guys (including Wanjiru) have took notice of it and actually know it exists. The fact that it is getting international recognition is an acknowledgement of how the DCM is progressing

Plus articles like this mentioning the Dublin Marathon prob help:

I think Sokolov running under 2:10 a few years ago put Dublin on the map, and we're slowly seeing the results of that.

Having said that, I was very surprised to see Lelisa right up there with Kebede and Wanjiru at the end.

What's the irish line-up for this? Is Alan O'Shea running? I've a feeling his recent win in Cork to Cobh 15mile was actually a PMP run (he ran the whole thing on his own at 5.15 mile pace)...might be capable of running <2:19 maybe even sub 2:18....he ran 2:22 in may

Sokolov will be running again this year.
Lilesa ran 2.05 in China shortly after winning in Dublin so it's not really a surprise that he is able to mix it with the best.
There are 4 sub 2.30 women also entered for Dublin.
Sergiu Ciobanu has just returned from Moldova after a stint of training with the Moldovan Champion and Sergiu will be all out to defend his National title.
