I'm a bit confused about these cards, one supplier talks about channels 1-8 plus HD on Hotbird then other suppliers talke about 1-10 and no mention of HD.

Does anyone know if there are any HD channels with these cards? Also, are there any reliable suppliers you can recommend?

The Aljazeera HD channel is on Nilesat so if you live in Ireland it does't matter if you get a card HD card or not because you will not be able to receive it. (Unless the new Nilesat is much much much stronger)
As for where to buy it. I think the cheapest place is Ebay. I bought one of Tech Digital on there a few months back and its a great card.

Bought my +1 to +8 card just over a year ago from www.tvcorner.com for 119, They are a French crowd and no issues ,

I just renewed the same card with them for 129 but this time got channels +1 to +10 ,

Excellent Service all round and I recommend them highly.

I got an Irdeto card BTW

I take it there is a typo here, did you mean not on hotbird? I'll check lyngsat anyway.
I am gonna get one to compliment my cyfra card but just wanted to check best suppliers.

What sort of stuff does the extra 2 channels show? I see cards showing +9 and +10 for a few quid extra but it's really hard to find an English schedule page for their sports channels.

They usually show the Totenham champions league games on it (because they play the same time as Man United) and they normally show Arsenal Champions league games on it (because they play the same time as Chelsea)
They also usually use it to show the Russian Premier League. This Friday nights Heniken Cup game is also scheduled for +9. But all of the main matches in la liga and the other leagues are availible from 1 to 8 at the moment altough who knows how long this will be the case.

OK - last thing, is anyone running this card in CCcam? There seems to be conflicting reports of irdeto and viaccess cards stopping after a certain amount of time under softcams. I am running 2.14 on my Dreamboxes.

My JSC Viaccess card has been fine the past month or two on CCcam 2.1.4

Sorry for throwing up an old thread but I am just wondering where would you be able to buy a second hand Viaccess cam for a satellite receiver ( I have done some research and apparently the new viaccess 4 cards work in the old viacess cams with a red sticker on them.) I currently have 2 cards and only one slot so I might treat myself to a cam for christmas you can buy new ones for almost €50 on Ebay but in my opinion that is too much as it is half the price of the years subscription itself. So I would appreciate if anybody on here knows were to buy one or knows someone selling one.

I see that Al Jazeeras two HD sport channels are being broadcast form 4 east. Under the following: 11660 H 27500 Is this frequency attainable in Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,244 ✭✭✭irishchris

Hi mate I'm in west coast and tried few days ago to pick them up but had no joy with 90 cm solid triax. Would be good to hear if anyone gets it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

    Strange place to put them.

Nothing in Dundalk on 1.1 m dish, AzBox. In MPEG 4, maybe that is the problem. Getting Wesal TV 55% and data TP's up to 70%, all on the same beam.

Where are you getting this info? I can't see it on KingofSat or LyngSat?

Eurobird 4A at 4 East. Are you looking on 4.8 East ?

    Yes.
But there is no information anywhere that they are on transmitting on. Is it S2? What's the modulation etc.

so does that mean if I get a jsc HD card ill beable to pick up these channels?

Unlikely unless you have a massive dish because irishchris can't receive it on the west coast with a 90 cm dish. Dxhound2005 can't receive it with a 110cm in Dundalk and I can't get a sniff of it with a 100cm in the North West.

    hello,
what sort of coverage has aljazeera of the spl games at the moment, heard that they only showing 12pm games and that the 3pm not shown

Is there any difference between the Viaaccess card and the Irdeto card on TVcorner. Is it just two different forms of encryption?

They are both on 13E at 11296H so am I correct in assuming that both will work on my vu+ duo?

Well, the Viaccess one definitely works on CCcam.

I'd imagine the Irdeto one does too, though I can't confirm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 261 ✭✭Premier

Yes works with cccam Byte no problem

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,249 ✭✭✭GY A1

hey, whats spl coverage like at the mo on this card
or what has the best coverage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,529 ✭✭✭recyclebin

See http://liveonsat.com/index.html to see what SPL games they show.

Doesn't look like they are showing any SPL tomorrow. I don't have the card yet so can't confirm if they show much SPL

LJ's is usually very late updating for Al Jazeera. Probably due to the scarce supply of listings online.

According to this site http://www.jsc-sports-guide.com/tv/sat/9 Celtic is being shown tomorrow.

Al Jazeera seems to be down tonight?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 792 ✭✭✭sob1467

Its not down. I am currently watching the pre match analysis of El Classico on jsc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 654 ✭✭✭Hunter Mahan

And it's back thankfully... switched it on and it was not broadcasting, then when I logged on I saw tweets from people around europe saying it was down...

    Must have been a blip..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 792 ✭✭✭sob1467

Hopefully thats all it was. Sometimes jsc can do that but it usually comes back. Thankfully.

A shame. Perhaps they will appear on Hotbird sometime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

I'm picking up HD1 & HD 2 on 4E. Not 24/7 but it's fine for a few hours a day. I just turned it on to check what it's like now but the signal is under 30%.

It's fine most evenings before 10-11pm.

    DVB-S2
    8PSK
    11660
    V
    27500
    2/3
    Pilot: Auto

Was free a few weeks ago but they're encrypted now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 163 ✭✭razor_ryan

what size dish are you using ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Should have mentioned that :o. 1.1m in Sligo.

Not getting anything atm. But I have watched some of the 6pm la liga kickoffs on there so it works around that time.

Ive a 1.1m as well in Mayo, I cant get anything during the day. I'll have a go in the evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Very good signal on there atm. I think they might have improved the signal if that's possible because I have 64%. I've never had it that high before.

    jsc1.png

I'll have another check later on tonight and see how it is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,477 ✭✭✭azzeretti
