iPhone 3G glitch?

I was driving to work Thursday morning with my 3G plugged into my Belkin fm transmitter to play my tunes over the car radio when all of a sudden the phone screen went dark and then the apple logo came up and it re-booted itself. The phone then came back on and worked ok since.

However, why did it reboot itself? It hasn't happened before at any point, especially when using the fm transmitter which has been in use for over a year problem free.

Software glitch, kernel panic, could be anything tbh. It's a mini computer. The odd time they will experience an unrecoverable error and the pre-programmed response in many instances is to just reboot. I wouldn't be concerned unless it's happening all the time.
