Just thought we might have a thread about the rest of the matches not involving Irish teams (and any Ulster matches without their own thread.)

Castres certainly putting it up to Northampton at the moment.

11-6 to Ulster at the moment as well.

    Good idea for thread.

Try by Castres. Taking whatever opportunites they can whereas Northampton have screwed up at least two try scoring opportunites from what I've seen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

Try to Castres, they're playing well. 0-5 to them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

Pienaar not having the best game from the boot...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Ulster 11 - 6 Aironi at halftime. Only one try from 40 minutes for Ulster.

They really need a BP win from this IMO.

Try Northampton after a good period of pressure. Reihana having a shocker with the boot. 4 missed kicks . Some which were relatively straightforward.

And Castres strike straight back with a drop goal after some great counter ruckingr from the restart

Ulster got the 2nd try just there. Conversion missed by Pienaar. Try for Northampton as well 5-5.

Ulster get second try of game in 44th minute, Humphries, Pineear misses conversion, 16 - 6 to Ulster. Come on bonus point!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭Risteard

Absolutely outstanding defence from Castres who are down to 14 men. I wonder will they keep it up for the whole match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

What's the Castres lineup like? Full strength?

    23-6 to Ulster now.

    Geraghty's kick at the end:eek:

Reminds me of one of the Cheifs Super 14 games earlier in the year. They missed every single one of their 9 or so kicks at goal.

Is the Northampton match over? Who won?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

    5-8 at half time.

10 - 8 Northampton. Second half just after kicking off and Foden scores immediately.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

Northampton had expected a bonus point from this match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

Ref in the Northampton match just made a shocking call that denied Castres a 7 pointer...

Terrible call. Nothing wrong with it and Castres should be at least 1 point up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

What's the score in that match now?

Yay, BP for Ulster! Trimble, Danielli, Pienaar and Humphries with the tries!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,565 ✭✭✭A2LUE42

As decisions go, that was a shocker. 7 points gone.. Oh dear George..

    12 - 11 Northampton.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,565 ✭✭✭A2LUE42

    Castre penalty, so now 12-11

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    What was the ref's call? Crossing/forward pass/etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

Said that there were two knock ons, Northampton first, then Castres, but it was only knocked on by Foden. Ball broke for Castres to score just to the left of the posts.

For the try chance? Foden knocked on and he called play back for a phantom second knock-on afterwards.

    15-11 Pen for Northampton

Not a clue, I'm just reading the score off the Beeb's score updates! :D

Another Castres try robbed by a phantom knock-on.

Ah does anyone have any idea? I'd like to see him take the 10 jersey back from O' Connor!

Match wasn't televised. There are a couple of Ulster supporters here who could have been at the game though.

    At time of post:

    Treviso 7-8 Leicester.
    Toulon 3-3 Ospreys

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Halftime:

    Toulon 6-3 Ospreys
    Treviso 13-13 Leicester

Leicester have an injury problem at 10 but it would still be a major shock if Treviso win.

    Toulon 9-6 Ospreys

    Treviso 16-20 Leicester

Seeing as I'm likely to be at Toulon vs Munster, I want Toulon to do well!

Leicester get out of gaol at the end and Toulon did as well

Poor Treviso. It's always the minnows that get beaten at the end.

    Unlucky for the Ospreys.

Maybe they'll take heart from it though and continue to do better.
