A week without cooking facilities, what to eat?

    So I've got a week of 16 hour shifts coming up in a lab in the US and I'm wondering what I can eat?

    I'll basically be living at the lab, there are no cooking facilities. This is all that's available to me:
    Some fridge space, a really ****ty microwave, boiling water, coffee, tea, endless amounts of sugary american junk food (in vending machines) and cup-noodles. The last of which seems to be what most people in my predicament end up subsisting off.

    I wouldn't mind using this week to cut a little (i.e. high protein and limited intake), given that my food options are going to be limited anyway and I'll have no social obligations (read: alcohol) getting in the way.
    At the same time I don't want to be an idiot about it.

    I'll have time to do one shop before hand (and maybe on quick one in the middle) so I thought I'd keep it to:

    Cheese
    Whey protein (really cheap over here)
    Nuts
    1gallon whole milk
    Salami
    The odd tin of fish
    Some fruit
    Multivits

    How does that look? Any other suggestions? Bear in mind I'm unable to cook here and will have very little time otherwise to prepare.

    Sounds good, get some high-quality beef jerky too. You can also boil eggs in a kettle (Pop eggs in kettle boil from cold. Empty kettle, fill with cold water and boil again)

    Jars of pickled vegetables can be good too, some have a little sugar but it's mostly in the pickling vinegar. Beetroot, gherkins and onions provide variety and a little fibre.

    Sardines and salmon would be the most nutritious tinned fish.

    Lots of tins of fish, also the pouches of dressed tuna are handy.

    Veg like celery and fennel should last pretty well in a fridge and can be eaten raw.

    Whey or casein would be good, what about a bucket of yogurt from Lidl?

    buy some Pyrex ramekin dishes, and poch your eggs in the microwave.
    depending on how much fridge space is there, bring in containers of home made vegetable soup or stew and heat in the microwave

    some whole grain crackers - these will last longer than bread



    and some marshmallows to melt over a Bunsen burner! ;)
