Firefox keeps crashing?

The computer/modem turn on as normal but often the firefox icon won't open at all. Sometimes restarting the computer helps. I have avg and I updated malwarebytes while in safe mode. Parental muppet turned the computer off so I don't know if the scan found anything.

    Is it malware or what?

    Thanks

the logs should be still be there, open up malwarebytes click logs and open the log from the scan, they are dated. There is a good chance it is not a virus/malware.

Have you installed new add-ons recently? You could try disabling your ad-ons one at a time and see if that helps. Also if you open your task manager and click on the process tab is firefox.exe showing up? if so end the process and try starting firefox.

I'd try reinstalling Firefox as well before you go down the route of a Virus/Malware infection

Unless of course you have some other reason to suspect an infection I'd say it's just Firefox got corrupted somehow
