Recently moved to Galway from overseas and looking for some pubs that are not as well known as the Quays or O Connells where I can meet some fine Irish ladies. Any suggestions?

It is nice, but I must warn it's not cheap. That said it has the best selection of beer in Galway.

The old ones are...well, the oldest ;)

Is it really closed? There was a throng of people on the streets by it on pride weekend in August. Did it close since then.

    There goes the gaybourhood then!

Yeah the Gay Pride was its last nite.

Then they turned off the lights and all went out the back door.

Halo is good for older hopefully more mature people or the Quays upstairs.
And if your looking for a not to bothered night - CP's or Cuba...
Best to do late bars as people are more often more coherent :)

Moved up to Hosty's on Bohermore, so I heard.

As for the OPs question, I guess it depends on his/her definition of fine. Personally I like the character-filled folks who hang out in the Crane. YMMV.

It use to be called Tosh I think..It's beneath the Meyrick hotel. They do good food too because the food is made in the hotel.

It's a sports bar. It has some crazy number of flat screens. Shows games in 3D. And they give free finger food at half time of matches. The staff are very friendly too. But like I said the odd scumbag can make their way in from time to time.

Really showing your maturity here aren't you? (or lack of it).
Don't answer, it was a rhetorical question (its a big word so you will need to Google it, I know).

At least he can say his own name without saying anus, more than we can say for you eh?

I like McSwiggans, and Hugh's on woodquay, Bar 8 is good but the noise level is deafening if you're in for dinner and a chin wag. Freeneys and Murphys are great for good pints,
Good luck with the research! dying to hear how you get on
