    Hi guys,

Tax is up on my car and I'd like to renew it. Is there anyway it can be done without me physically going to a motor office as I'm working mon-fri 8-6 and am nowhere near an office. First time taxing it, it's a second hand car. don't know if that matters?

    Thanks!

If you only bought the car in the last month or so then it is unlikely that you will be sent out a reminder letter and PIN to tax it online as they system would not have been updated in time.

See if you can get someone else to make the trip to the motor tax office for you instead. It's the only alternative I can see.

It's either that or risk it for a few weeks untill the pin gets sent out then back tax it. If you're caught you may have to pay €60 for non displayal...should be alright though, up to you really you got two choices. Wait for a week or two or go in and pay in the office.

Have the big test in just over a week, better not chance it ;)

Afaik, first time you tax you have to go in yourself, after that you'll start to get the letters.

They usually issue a reminder and PIN about 2 weeks before the tax expires. I don't know if they will issue one a few weeks after that.

I'd just get someone else to go in and tax it for me. Not worth the hassle imo.
