so i bought a new car in june and traded in my old car. a 3 weeks later i get 2 letters saying i didnt pay the toll for journeys in my old car. so i called them up saying i no longer own that car. they tell me that it hasnt yet been registered to the garage and to call tehm. so i did and they registered it in therie name.
so now i get a letter stating "dispute rejected" because the car was registered to the garage after the fine was issued.
what can i do here coz there is no way i'm paying it.. how do i prove that i had traded the car in before it was used...

I'd be taking that up with the garage and getting them to pay it.

Should state on your receipt for the new car, the date and the registration of the trade in.

Hi Op, just wondering how that worked out for you? Have just had a similar run in with them. Traded car in August, phoned e flow to changeover details and register new car to the account. All grand. Last week recieved a solicitors letter threatening me with court action if I didn't pay the now 146 odd euros in fines etc. Phoned e flow to ask em hello whats the craic here. Told to contact solicitors which I did.

Told I would have to send them proof of non ownership, copy of reciepts etc to prove traded the car in etc. They said this was because the vehicle registration had me listed as the owner so I would need to prove I wasn't.
Phone call to VR and guess what they have it on record I didn't own the car. Excellent result.

Back onto E flow, only to be told their info is about when the new owner was registered a whole month later and even though I didn't own the car as traded in, still classed as owner as new owner didn't take possession until the following month.WTF

Just really narked over it, cancelled my account with them now and requested a refund of the balance on my pre paid account. They are still saying court action etc,

Just wondering how it worked out for you or if anyone else has any experience of this. Not the first issue with them this year regarding being billed for journeys never made, incorrect reg read etc.

Assuming now will have to make a court appearance as they are saying liable even though have shown wasn't the owner at the time. Just looking for some advice tbh on what to do next

If this is posted in wrong Place could a mod move it? Thanks

Sue them if you have to take time off work and you're proven right. :)

Thank you made me laugh at least, actually feel like going to court just so can sit there and let them prove I was driving and?or owned the car at the time. So annoyed over it
