looking at this https://secure.argoscareers.com/christmas/ and see that they dont mention the job description-i assume is basic behind the counter work yes?

I also noticed in the education section on the job application form the example they include are only secondary level requirements-does that mean they will turn down someone who's gone to college?

They don't have a job description, as they don't know. It could be anything. Most likely stocking shelves, I'd say, unless you good looking. Then you'll probably be put on the tills :P

I went into my local store today in Longford. The positions were long filled and the lady said hey didn't even have application forms left anyway.
    I was sickened.

Got my form yesterday and am bringing it back with my cv tomorrow.

Also off topic but how long is your CV OP? I tried to cram everything into one page to make it look better with the app form.

Surely they won't turn down a graduate? If they do is there anything stopping you from leaving it out? Besides good ethics I mean? ;)

I have a sneaking suspicion that argos had already filled the positions and this was all a ruse to harvest cv's:mad:

I worked there all through college, starting as a xmas temp, but I didnt start til November..
Great place to work tho, if they have no applications left why not print one off online and try get to hand it to the manager - and smile, they're big into that.
More than likely start off picking, so dont go if your afraid of heights/hard work, then you'll get trained in other areas depending on how well ya get on.
    G'luck

Store in Athlone took my form. They didn't have any there to take NOR have they any posters advertising these positions on display. But I handed mine to the person at the customer services desk, and she said she'd take it. Seen her place it on a modest pile of about 5-8 applications.
