Hi, Iv been playing airsoft for nearly two years and have never tried sniping. I always got the impression it was quite frustrating waiting for targets etc and would not be suited to the fast paced types of players.

Basically I just want to know your opinions from experience before I go spending money on a sniper loadout
    cheers

Why would you need to spend money for the load Bar the rifle , Sniping can be done with any rifle in airsoft tbh if you have decent camo gear for the area you play no real need for a ghillie suit . I have seen lots of good sniper's using M4 or even m14 and getting good hits .

Only difference is the sound from the AEG vs the sniper . Sniper in it self if you don't mind stalking you prey and not getting seem is allot of fun , also being able to take a shot while hidden and the person not know were it came from it good too.

My Advise would be to get a lend of a gun and try it before you spend money on something you may not enjoy.

you get out of the role what you put in, if your prepared to brush up your fieldcraft and be patient it can be very rewarding in the style of play!

dont carry an aeg with your l96 ,
its not practical and camo isnt a big thing either(it can help) for snipers as thermo said fieldcraft is, learning movement and concealment will be ,the last 2 weekends i played as a sniper with a TM l96 camo was faded marpat trousers and a 3euro od fleece and a boonie ,i got kills from 10ft and 30+ meters and only got hit 4 times in the first few hours of play when i switched to my aeg i got hammered respawened 20 times in 15 mins ,
and its not always about getting that great shot ,practice ,patience,is key for me learn your rifle inside and out ,learn your effective ranges ,learn to move quitely,

thermo again "mind set" is equally important

Get some heavier bb's and get used to setting your hop a little high to lob the bb's and you will get some extra range.

It a trick I used on aegs for extra range and having 5-10 metres extra is useful when the other guy cant hit you back.

I did it on a .95 joule mp5 and .25's and got silly range and the advantage is great, you can really get the upper hand on lads for pinning down positions and getting kills.

ya im very keen to give it a go! i heard the well l96 is very good for its price but could do with gettin a better scope when you buy it. I had abou 300 for a rifle but ended up buying a kj works p226 a few minutes ago.. cost me 180 with a big bag of bbs and a big bottle of gas.. not sure what kind of deal that was! So I guess the well one is about all I can afford now!
