    Hey!

It's my first time using this so I hope someone can give me advice! :)
I'm going to Australia for a year in January and flying into Cairns first. I really wanted to have accommodation sorted before I go over.
Can anyone recommend good hotels/hostels that's not too expensive?

Also I'm planning on going to the Whitsundays for a few days and I'm thinking of staying on Daydream Island. Has anyone ever been and what did you think of the hotel there? Read some reviews on Trip Advisior and there a bit mixed.

If ur in Cairns, the best hostel is Gilligans. Bout $25-$30 a night.

Whitsundays - Best hostel is Magnums in Airlie Beach.

I think staying on the islands themselves is more the family holiday type.

    Thanks for that B_man. :)

I heard that Gilligans is a good spot. Is it in the centre of Cairns?

Yeah pretty much, Cairns is just a Medium sized town. Walk around it in 20 mins.

Just another thing i thought of now.
Anyone who's had the 1 year working visa might be able to help me with this.
I need to come home for 5 weeks in June during my year over there.
I read in my insurance details that it can't be longer than 3 weeks but is this just that i won't be insured over the 3 weeks or what?
