Like any potential employer should the public not get a look at a complete and truthfull CV before a politician can run for office?

I only ask this as an aside to the Gogarty thread were Devore quizzed him on his reasoning for proping up the current government.

I wanted to see who this man was, not the soundbite warrior he has become but what is he about, what experience he has in the real world and how does that give him the right to ignore the general population. To no avail.

I would also be interested in 5 or 6 other politicians that are playing majors parts in our current drama's.

    What do you's lot think?

I think it's something everyone should do before they put pen to paper - why on earth would you vote for someone you know nothing about?

Forcing candidates to publish this information may indeed seem like a good idea on the surface, but I have a feeling it will only prevent people from engaging with that which they should be doing in the first place.

actually not as daft as it sounds, rather than pushing the party line you might actually get some real info about them and their politics, might do this myself
they are applying for a job after all

heres a few questions for the interview : :D

    How would you describe yourself?

What specific goals, including those related to your occupation, have you established for your life?

What influenced you to choose this career?

At what point did you choose this career?

What specific goals have you established for your career?

What will it take to attain your goals, and what steps have you taken toward attaining them?

What do you think it takes to be successful in this career?

How do you determine or evaluate success? Give me an example of one of your successful accomplishments.

Do you have the qualifications and personal characteristics necessary for success in your chosen career?

What has been your most rewarding accomplishment?

How would you describe yourself in terms of your ability to work as a member of a team?

What motivates you to put forth your greatest effort?

Would you describe yourself as goal-driven?

    etc etc

be more use than tose pamphlets shoved through the door i can read the manifesto !
