Im posting this in this forum based on advice from a mod.

(Since its in this forum I should probably highlight its aimed at burlesque/carbaret enthusiasts.)

This is a starter project. We need someone to star in a show and maybe teach the rest of the girls a few tricks. Although not essential, it would be a big bonus if you could provide your own props and dresses, however don’t let that put you off if you havent got anything as initially --some-- funding can be supplied for these things.

We are not interested in someone who only wants to do one or two shows. You may be required to sign a contract to deliver a set number of shows- though we are very negotiable. Very early estimates would be around 7 shows.

Mainly we are supplying the venue, the funding and some eager (but untrained) girls for you to use as you see fit.

We need a star. We need somebody who knows burlesque and can pull off a show. Please let me stress this, we don’t care if you have 1 year of experience or 10 years of experience. Personality, determination and some street smarts but above all- the right energy is what we need.

Ideally you would be able to work on your own and have some initiative. Naturally you will be instrumental in putting together the shows. It won’t be a case of- we tell you what to do, you do it, we pay you, you go home. Your advice and insights are very valuable. However, we always have the final say on every aspect.

Shows are due to be held between Dundalk and Drogheda. But would prefer to meet potentials in Dublin City any week day before 6.

Also, without meaning to discriminate or limit our own options- we really do need somebody who has good English.

    PM if your interested.

Also. We might be interested in some back-up girls. Any experience would be a massive advantage, but over the next few months (if this project goes as planned) we hope to be able to provide training. Again PM your details if interested.

My advice would be to have a look at the Association of of Irish Musical Societies website (www.aims.ie).

They have an active forum there where many performers, amateur and professional, can be found.

    Good luck with it.
