I got BBB ones in my LBS for €12, wouldn't bother spending any more than that.

The ones I got were a royal bitch to fit. They are good once they're on though, but it took all evening.

SKS are fiddly to fit all right but they are the best, stay in place, best coverage, never rattle, etc. I would only go for them if you don't want to ever take them off again (or just on/off once a year.) Other guards can be OK with the benefit of easy on/off.

Crud Road Racer MK II, I find excellent, light and quite discreet

Fitted these to my trek 1.5 last month with ease.

If you're looking for clip-on, clip-off, then the Crud's or SKS raceblades are the way to go.

Raceblades are much stronger and easier to get on and off, but they're also bulkier and harder to adjust. The cruds are paper light, and not exactly easy to get on and off. But they look much slicker than raceblades and don't need any adjustment, once fitted. I had a pair of cruds, both mudguards had snapped in one way or another within 4 months. Raceblades have been going strong now for about 6 months.

If you're looking for mudguard to leave on for the whole season, then the SKS linked ones above will work. If you're looking for clip-ons, then I would only fit the crud ones to a bike that you're not using for commuting.
