Ethics and the Dail

I started reading this statement to the Dail (warning very long read) and then started to read the actual Ethics in Public Office Act, 1995. Here. It has constantly disgusted me that there seems to be absolutely no accountability for politicians that are dirty, the most I have seen is they get kicked out of the party. But they can get re-elected as an independent. I am at a complete loss as to how this happens in our system.
Has any party ever said they'd do anything about it? All laws are passed at the Dail, so I can understand the, "turkeys voting for Christmas" debate.

However, if a member proposes that any dirty politician will be suspended from office until an independent investigation has either found them guilty or innocent, and if found guilty should be expelled from politics for a minimum 10 year term plus whatever court actions take place, or if found innocent, should be recompensed in some manner that is suitable, how could it ever pass?

It is one of those, who watches the watchmen debate. I have read the Ethics in Public Office Act, but I have yet to find what is the consequence of their actions if found guilty.

Is there any other way to enact law in this country? Or will it take a one party government with a sizable majority to make the changes necessary?

There should be an independent party like they have for police in USA,internal affairs. And have no dealings with the Dail members previously.Would go one better and make them anonymous also.

Also if guilty should be done with treason and locked up and assets ceased to that amount.

    oh p.s ethics and,
Dáil should not go on same line.

    Yes they should.

    That's the problem, they don't.
