In fairness, the grant system is an absolute disgrace. I'd give it another month if I were you...

I got a text from some number saying my grant has been renewed and that they should be in the college by the end of the summer. Also, they will text me when they send the cheques out. I was impressed by getting notification I must admit :)

I'd love to know about Galway City VEC. Tried ringing them, no joy. Checked online, no joy. Will have to call into them I reckon:(

States that Galway VEC has been in since 11th (yesterday?). Surprised Sligo is in, thought it would be ages yet, hope to check tomorrow if mine is in. :)

Fair play to you, didn't think of checking NUIG page itself

:eek::eek: Sligo is in this early???

jaysus, was not expecting it to be in this early at all. sure quicker than last year anyway. i'll probably pop into them next week to collect it. really shocked that it's in this quick.
    thanks for the link, brian
it's a bit weird, that page you linked. it says "Academic Year 2007/08" on the menu bar at the top of the browser. i thought for a sec that you had linked an old page, but glad to see i was proven wrong :)

Yeah was really surprised and happy too, going to try and get it tomorrow myself or get a grant advance now that i know they'll be out soon it should be ok.
The grants office is pretty good at regularly updating what grants are in so if people are ever waiting for them check it every day, everything else on the site might not be updated much....
Also for those that don't know you can get a grant advance from the bank to tide you over, speak to your bank for more info....

I know this is in the Donegal grant thread, but I really don't understand the system at all. I've applied through the Galway City Council so I assume that is different to the Galway City VEC? My application was only a few days before the deadline and I only received a letter confirming that my application was being processed, nothing on whether I will receive it or not. Will I only find out if they will give me one when they actually issue them? I was going to try and get a small overdraft to cover the cost of books but was told that I would need the letter stating that I am eligible for a grant from the council. Any help would be appreciated.

Ring them and ask if you got it or not.
