Are those times right, just seen Amy Foster running.

Edit: Just seen your disclaimer about them being Dehli times.

Anyone have any results.....the official results page is way behind

The results service is hours behind. Foster's heat was scheduled at 2pm our time and they're still showing the start list

She did qualify from the first round automatically, not sure if they have had the next round yet?

The video streams won't work for most of you, but the text feed on this page should keep you mostly up to date with the goings on in the absence of a TV or red button during the day:

Sally Pearson was shafted today in the 100m final, lets hope she wins the hurdles to make up for it.

Nah, I reckon they should both have been given false starts in the first place. They both moved at basically the same time and no way one could claim the other moving caused them to move with the difference in their start times and that they were three lanes apart.

our North always does well in the shooting competition..:)

They were saying during the team pursuit cycling today as if it was NI's first medal in X years, that can't be right though can it, or were they just on about cycling medals?

Nope, she false started. It was the Nigerian who was nearly shafted.

5 entries and the Welsh were DQed. If I'm reading the results correctly they caught the Indians after 2 minutes? Still, a medal's a medal. Isn't it?

They have been very, very harsh with the DQ'ing of people in the velodrome.

Had to laugh at some of the stuff allegedly going on at the track yesterday.

    1. Security refusing to allow the Starter to bring his recall gun into the stadium, resulting in at least one 100m heat being contested all the way, after a false start.

    2. All the technical officials being held inside the stadium for four hours after they'd finished, with them threatening to go on strike as a result :pac:

Didn't hear that explanation for it. :D:D

Decent run by Mageean, came home in 4:10, an improvement on her semi-final time and not far of her PB. She worked hard all the way, a very successfull season all round. Good run by Steph Twell, she has done well this season after a very disappointing run in the euro cross. Commenwealth medalist, european finalist and sub 15 for the 5k

Good to see McIlroy make the 800 semis, he might have a chance if the pace is quicker he seemed to be lacking a kick at the end this morning. MJ said on the Beeb this morning that the top 6 Jamacian 100m sprinters were not in Delhi but they still win gold. Talk about depth.

On the whole the quality of some of the events is very poor.

True, but that is only to be expected with a limited set of countries to take part.

Can't criticize the potential quality of swimming too much though, as the Aussies are there, or the sprint track events, as the Jamacians could be there, or distance track events, as the Kenyans are there, or the cycling, as the UK is there except with weakened team due to being split in four.

It is a fantastic opportunity for lots of countries to get to take part in a big multi event competition. For the UK it's a great opportunity to blood up and coming people before 2012 as they have four times as many potential entries than usual. For the Aussies it's a good opportunity to win everything without the Americans getting in their way.

Correction, 3 and a half times as many potential entries. Many of the Northern Ireland contingent, Ciara Mageean in particular, will be representing Ireland in all other competitions and so have no relevance with regards GB blooding athletes.

Well four is probably too small a number actually once you start counting Isle of Mann, Guernsey and Jersey etc as well, but they will not be appearing in as many events anyway. Couple of good cyclists from Manx though, and Guernsey managed to field a team for the 4x100 medley final in the swimming which I was impressed by.
