Myself and my partner were passengers on this train, the 12.15 from Cork,(we joined it at mallow). It was a small 3 carriage train which was quite full.

Firstly,we would like to extend our sympathies and condolences to the family of the person who died.
Secondly, we hope that the train driver will have proper care and counselling that he needs to help him come to terms with the incident.
We also would like to thank all the Irish Rail staff and members of the emergency services, who escorted the passengers from the train and who kept us all informed of what was happening at all times.Everybody was really professional and courteous and couldn't have been more helpful.

Thank you all for a really difficult job, well done!

    Yes, agreed..
Condolences to the family and to the driver who will undoubtedly need some professional guidance through this ordeal.

I was on the Galway train coming up and we stopped at Newbridge - staff were great, everyone was concerned (well mostly everyone - except for a certain scumbag who smoked and drank all the way up while choking his girlfriend)... Perspective folks, perspective...

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Jesus that's only a couple of hundred yards from my house. RIP the poor person who died :(

There was nothing in the news (main media) about this, which in recent times has come to mean it was probably a suicide :(

God thats terrible. Not being horrible here, but how does one clean that up? I just read a thread about leaf mulch affecting braking on trains. There must be some very sensitive cleaning required. RIP to the poor person.
