"One day, perhaps, the collection will be sorted, labelled and put on display. But whether it ends up in Ireland or elsewhere is still to be decided. Kelly explains that an American collector is interested in buying the whole lot and discussions are ongoing."

Only half way through reading that article and that pops up. he really that badly off or trophies etc just dont bother him anymore?

Yeah, I thought that was a bit sad myself...
Maybe he just doesn't put any sentimental value on trophies... sounds like he's okay for money.....

The article looks to be about 6 or so years old?

nice article, makes a reference to Lance being a 5 time winner of the tour de France which would make it from 2003/2004

i have that copy of cycle sport. The general view is that the money is what drove him and the trophies were secondary. It was rumoured at one time that the tropies were going to be kept in a cycling museum to be built on the grounds of the sean kelly sports centre in carrick.

Kelly has a well-filled bike shed in the grounds of his house - although his best bike, a black Trek with triple chainring, is stored warm and dry in the
    boiler room.

    ;)
