Just wondering if anyone has. Looking to go abroad in January and well Ryanair are costing a bloody fortune, was thinking maybe something along the lines of Aer Aaron might be an option, if the numbers were right.

Has anyone any idea of companies similar or their rates?

    Jay

Depends how many people are going ? Smallest aircraft aer arann has will seat about 40 - 44 ? In or around that.

Unless every seat is full its not worth your time.

Its unlikely that chartering a commercial aircraft is going to save you any money. Think of it like this. You want to go from A to B, no problem. But at B you want to get off and hang around for a while - maybe a week for arguments sake. So you are now paying for the lost time of an aircraft and crew to be sat on the ground (aircraft only make money when airborne). Or you pay for it to fly back empty from B to A and then again from A to B to pick you up and take you home. If you want it to sit empty on the ground for an extended period of time then you will be paying hotel bills, overnight allowances, ramp and parking charges and a whole host of other things.

Last year the company I work for rented an 8 seater private jet from time to time for us to travel between Ireland and Germany. From memory I think the cost was €5000 /hr! At that rate I don't think you'll be making any savings versus going with an airline.

Just got a quote for us earlier, for 50 people, the plane provided cost a total of 66 thousand euros.

    For anyone interested :o

    Thanks for the feedback lads.
