Some Unionists in both parties, [I think we can safely dispense with the TUV as a serious entity]are making a whole song and dance about the prospect of Martin McGuiness, becoming FM at Stormont next spring, but something tells me they protest too much. If the SDLP were main nationalist party still, I couldn't see Ritchie or any SDLP leader being acceptable to either the DUP or their other half as FM even as the title is an empty shell., but at least then, the figleaf would be removed and exposed. Demographics are slowly evening up so NI will then be a democracy for the first time in it's history.

Its all a bit silly at this stage. Even if he got the thing, he's not going to make an announcement wearing a halo of hellfire and pronounce thats its enforced Popery for all.

I don't mind it. Martin Mcguinness actually more often than not comes across as alright, even though he was a terrorist at one point in his life.

I think it should be shared around. He is serving Northern Ireland. Thats all that matters.

Ironically enough if Jim Allister's TUV take seats or cause the UUP to gain seats he could be the very reason McGuinness gets it.

Anyway it is literally only a word.

    He's already joint first minister

It makes no difference anyway. Both ministers have the same amount of power.
