    Hey,
I went to an assessment day for wh smith about 3 weeks ago for their new store in T2. Have not heard anything yet.
Just wondering did anybody else go for interviews and have you heard anything back??

    Cheers

I wonder how many people applied for that job. At least 500 I'd say. What kind of assessment was it OP? Bad luck about not getting the job by the way

I think they had 4 groups of 15 shortlisted. Each group was called to attend a a group interview thing and each group had 15 people. We were introduced to the management and an English guy from HR, who were very nice and polite. We got told the history of WH Smith and then we did a group exercise that was to assess our communication skills. After which, we did a basic maths test for 10 minutes while the managers asessed our performance on the communication task. They then collected the test, and such decided to drop 4 from the next step of the day, which was one-on-one interviews. I had my interview with the manager of the store. I thought I had done very well, but unfortunately, I wasn't offered a position.

Sorry to hear you didn't get it either JBoyle. I've had nonsense interviews like that - the ones that take up your whole day. God be with the days when you were just in a normal interview. I was called for 2 interviews and three tests for a simple data entry role in the last week.

I can't believe things are that bad people have to go through all this, just to get a retail job. Depressing :(
