    Hi

Im currently trying to insure a vacant house for a relative.

Im having great difficulty with this I have got a quote from hibernian for 1,000.

House is only 700 sq foot bungalow dating from the 1970's but is in good repair

    Has anyone had this issue?

A vacant house is a much greater insurance risk as it is more likely to be broken into or robbed.
As well as that you have the risk that a pipe could burst and not be noticed for a long time, therefore doing greater damage.

All of these factors together make the house a much riskier proposition for the insurer.
