    Hi all,
I'm currently wanting to replace my Horstmann Centaur SC1 programmer as the ability to only program 3 time periods per day drives me nuts.

I'm a competent electonics guy so if the new programmer is not a plug and play replacement (highly unlikely anyway) that's ok. I ideally would like what my mother has...one of those old mechanical ones with pull out plastic tabs to be able to accurately control the on/off cycles throughout the day.

Can anyone recommend a good solution here? System is single channel (ie, immersion heater, no combi boiler/no split system etc. basic old fashioned gas central heating).

    Cheers all.

Should be fairly simple change over.
Ths SCI is a Digital single channel output therefore you should be able to pick up a single zone mechanical time clock.
Either a FLASH or TRIAC time clock is a rectangular time clock. The base plates are similar.
Just normally has a Live, Neutral, and Live out connection. (Earth is terminated in plate). You may need to wire in a loop between Live and Common connection.

Cheers for the reply, yes the mother has a Flash Immermat by the looks of it. Next question: Cheapest supplier? online or bricks and mortar? Cheers!

Most trade centres, Electrical wholesalers sell them fairly cheap.
Take the original one with you and compare suitablitity.

a flash analogue clock costs approx 25 euro plus vat, similarly the newer version of the apt is around the same money. they fit into a single size box but the rectangular flash clocks are approx 45 plus vat and upwards depending on the model.
