On this alternative commentary could TG4 not provide English commentary on their ML games via digital (both DTT and satellite) the way S4C do for Welsh games and the way BBC2W provide alternative Welsh commentary/Rick O'Shea commentary for their coverage?

They are not a digital channel. Nor, incredibly, are RTE.
This service is onyl possible via digital output.

Could you possibly explain this further?

thank you for the reply, very much appreciated. Just wondering are there any plans to have interactive on either Saorview (DTT) or Saorsat (satellite) services in the future?
