Well, he's won his 7th. So what's the procedure now? He quits for 3 years and comes back but not as good as before and people wonder if he was ever that good in the first place?

Whoever could you be talking about?

7 world championships are fact, the rest is just opinion! Schumacher or Loeb, 2 of the worlds greatest!

seems like only yesterday that he won (almost won) that first monaco rally

don't follow wrc much these days, didn't realise he's been so dominant the last few years

Delighted for him, next years DS3 will make it harder again, even though he made the change from the Xsara to the C3 pretty effortlessly

Yeah well done Seb Loeb. It was great the way he could have closed it in Japan but held back and chose to do it in his home rally and in his town of birth Haguenau. Mind you it is begining to get a little predictable and boring with himself around, i think it is high time he moves into a f1 car it would be very interesting to see how he does. He said he will be contending next year in the ds3 but after that who knows?

Loeb is an incredible driver the likes of which has never been seen before in WRC, comparisons to Schumacher are well deserved. He is tuned to precision and unstoppable - doesn't make for good title battles but great incar!

Loeb has said that 2011 will more than likely be his final year!

Sebastian Ogier anyone? From New Zealand onwards he was fantastic and its clear that he will be the man to take over from Loeb within Citreon.

Its crazy when you look at Loeb's stats though. I remember when Makkinen took the wins record off Kankkunen(with 24) before McRae and Sainz added another win apiece. We all thought those records would stand for years and now Loeb has nearly three times as many wins and next year could have double the number of titles! I think its really only most stage wins that he isnt the record holder(points as well but I'm really not sure) but if he stays in the sport for another few years he should easily achieve those targets.

Personally for the future I'd like to see him racing at LeMans and in sportscars

Winning 7 WRC titles is an amazing achievement and I won't rule out the possibility that he wins another next year.

That could happen and I would like it to. He competed in LeMans a few years ago but i'd really love to see him behind the wheel of a Peugeot 908.

But shumacher never did 7 in a row!!
You won't ever see him in f1,he might do a bit of dtm and le mans

:D Yes, my comment was mainly tounge in cheek!
They are both remarkable in their own respect.
Loeb won't move to F1, it would take too long to get used to the completely different dicipline, and he's in his mid-30's now, so that opportunity has passed unfortunately. I've no doubt that he would be in and around the front of the grid in F1 however had his career taken that path!

I still find it amusing that Motorsport is ultimately classed as one discipline ...from Moto to Superbikes, to Road racing to Karting, Saloon Track Cars to Single seaters, F1, rallying and beyond! Rallying alone shows that drivers tend to prefer one surface over others.

They are very different sports and require different natural talents and learned or highly-tuned skills. To me it is like suggesting that Tiger Woods should be a master tennis player (he could be I don’t know!) but as golf involves swinging a hand-held tool/device at a ball, surely they’re similar skillsets required!

Kimi, Rossi, Schumacher and many more have tried to cross into other motorsport disciplines...even Ken Block (master performer) but none particularly successful.

Ad this has what to do with Leob winning his 7th title? Off topic of the higest degree!

Leob is undoubtly a fantastic driver, but he has ruined the sport fo me Wasn't so bad last year but this year it was more a case of by how much was he going to win by, moreso when he was on tarmac. but ya never know meybe these new cars next year will make it tighter but i seriously doubt it.

personally I'd rather he cleared off and done some DTM or something and give the rest of us something decent to watch!

It was directly related to people suggesting that they would love to see Loeb try other Motorsports...
