Old Cabra Road junction

    can anyone help me with who has the right of way at the big junction at the old cabra road junction going straight to phibsboro coming from navan road? there are 3 lanes.far right is right turning only and then middle one is straight only then far left lane is left and straight!
    so the problem is,when you are at the lights crossing the junction to go straight to phibsboro, you can be in the middle AND the left lane. so when you merge over the other side of the lights who has the right of way? its a hard one but need to know so if anyone can help i would really appreciate it!

    In this case, I would say 'merge in turn'. It's a bit tricky, but a decent driver should probably allow a car which is slightly ahead in the adjacent lane to merge safely. If both vehicles are neck-and-neck, a driver could make a decision on whoever is more likely to have the quicker-moving vehicle to merge ahead first.

    If that is the junction then both of those lanes are for going straight and there's a slip for the left turn. Merge in turn.

    Do you mean the middle or the left lane, wouldn't it be improper to straddle both lanes? This is a badly designed junction and the left lane ends quite suddenly, the left lane should be designed as a left turn, I've seen a few close calls at this junction, but as other posters have said, merge in turn.
