    quarter finals:
    Sean Lahiff bt Sean McGowan
    Martin McCloskey bt M.Daly
    Connie Finnan bt Jason Cullen
    John Murray bt Seamus Sammon

    semis:
    McCloskey bt Lahiff
    Finnan bt Murray

    final:
    Finnan bt McCloskey

Connie won the National Singles 4-0 in sets.
Martin started well but missed doubles let Connie in.
Connie improved after the first set and won it out well in the end.

P*ss poor turnout, 32 at most, only 5 of the IOM team.

Well advertised event 32 is about as many as i expected... Still wont open there eyes, even a turn out this bad.

    How did you get on?

I drew Martin Conroy first round, lost 4-2.

I had 120 and 114 checkouts for my two legs.

Can't complain, he threw better darts, I had a few stray ones when I didn't need them.

Andy Dempsey was 7 darts into a 9 darter, missed the treble 19's.

Connie now number 1 in the rankings, as he won the mixed pairs Saturday with Caroline Breen.

half-ranked in Limerick - presume a big crowd as it's before their inter-county team tournament.

mohill is last one then - presumably very few as up against players round 2 that weekend.

Toughie that 1, choosing between round 2 of ipc or mohill. I dont agree with clashing in any shape or form, i strongly believe there are enough free weekends in the yr to avoid it.

Like yesterday, was 50 odd in clon for a cork ranking event, surely the indo cant be happy with clashing with a county that wud normally supply 6 or more players for an event.

Ladies: Olive McIntyre beat Helen Keane (I think that was her name), Mayo woman, padr may know if that is her name.

Youths: no idea, the final was ran off and nobody knew it was on.

There never was a shield for the youths as far as I know, as youths darts only took off in last 10 years. Winner gets a medal.

its ok i found out it was m browne from tipp who won the youths, but surely there was more than a medal for the winner, and really it is bad form if no one knew it was on it being the national final was it not played on the main board.if darts are to grow which we all want we have to look after the young players,if it has being running for ten years there should have been a sheild like the other winners, lets say you buy a sheild for 30 give the winner 50 and the beaten finalist 20 it only costs 100 euro not alot to keep young players intrested
