G&G GR16 R4 Upgrades

    Ok, I'm new to airsoft and bought myself a G&G GR16 R4. I love it:D.
Haven't got to skirmish it yet but I'd guess it'll chrono somewhere round the .85 joule mark. Is this grand for skirmishing or would it need a bit more power??? Should I just leave the internals alone?

Anyway, I really want a scope/sight with a bit of magnification, so I was thinking about getting an acog, or a red dot sight with the 3x magnification tube thing:confused: attached, or to look a complete eejit, a sniper scope:p:pac: Anything ye'd reccomend?

I was also thinking about getting a tight bore barrel to increase accuracy, maybe a prometheus 6.03mm. Do these need to be the same length as the original barrel or can they be longer?

    Thanks lads.
    Laurence.

I wouldn't bother with the internals - .85 is grand as is for skirmishing. It has wiggle room for environmental differentials that could otherwise push your gun over the limit.

A tightbore barrel will increase the FPS slightly, about 10 - 20 I'd say. You can go longer, but you may have to change the cylinder as it may not be powerful enough to push the BB out of the barrel. I'd recommend a standard M4 length barrel (363mm). Madbull, Vanaras, and Promethius come highly recommended.

With regard to sights? Completely down to your personal preferance! Buy what you like the look of.

Hope this helps...you'll probably get a better answer in a while :)
