Could someone give me advice on how to turn off/disable my alarm until I can get a new battery an install it. The sounder went off out of the blue, I managed to turn this off eventually with the code but now every couple of minute we have 2 beeps sounding which is very annoying, I am also worried that it is going to go off again. I have tried various codes etc and not sure if I pull out the battery (if i can find it) that this will fix it.

    Thanks

    Perhaps move to here

Turn off the mains power at the fuse board.
Open the main control panel (not the keypad)
Remove the mains fuse located in the top top left hand corner.
Remove the red & black leads from the battery sitting at the bottom of the panel.
Close up the panel & turn back on the mains.
Provoiding its not a very old external bell it will stop ringing in abour 20 minutes.
That is the system compleatly powered down.

    hi brewery
are you sure its not the battery in the smoke alarm
this will be independent of the house alarm

    Hi Koolkid,

I have never heard the outside Bell go off, the inside bell is all that goes off, will this go off again for the 20 minutes when I power it down?

Hi Meercat, I have only battery powered smoke detectors and I tool the batteries out just to eliminate.

When you power down the panel the internal bell will stop instantly. The external siren may ring at this stage. It should stop after 20-30 minutes.
