Peugeot 206 Hissing brake servo

    Hi,
My Peugeot 206 has developed a hissing noise coming from the passenger footwell area. I think it is the brake servo. Someone told me the brake balance mechanism at the back wheel on the drivers side sometimes siezes up so I sprayed it with WD40. The noise stopped for a few minutes but came back shortly after.
Just wondering if anyone has encountered this and should I change the servo or the mechanism at the rear wheel.

Can't see that its the Brake Pressure regulator on the rear axle as its totally
mechanical....sounds like your losing vacuum in and around the servo unit.
Does the brake pedal feel harder than normal...??

Brakes feel normal but the hissing is coming from behind the bulkhead so I would think it was the servo/vacuum like you said.
I was kinda wondering if the brake pressure regulator was getting stuck would it cause the hissing in the servo. Maybe that's not possible. Maybe it's a case of if it's hissing it's the servo, replace that and the problem is solved.

Check for leaks first...as you can see in the diagram the servo gets its
vacuum from the engine....The diagram is the brake servo from the 206
    engine TU5JP4G Injection.

Brought it to a mechanic recommended by a friend, diagnosed as the servo. Bought a new one myself at a discounted price of €180 inc vat, and he fitted it for €60. Sound is gone so I hope thats it.
