    Hi folks,

    Just a quickie....

We've a 2002 Merc ML270 that's up for it's NCT in a few weeks. At the minute the driver's window doesn't open but I'm not sure if it's just off the track or if the motor is gone. I've a feeling it's off the track because it works it's way open when your driving (only 10 or 15mm).

Also, I think one of the injector head seals is gone (enginge chugging a bit and a small bit of smoke coming out of the injector). Does anybody have an idea what this could cost to fix?? Obviously not in an official Mercedes garage!!

    Thanks in advance

Don't do anything before the NCT. Send it as it is and if it fails you know what you have to fix.

provided your ML is in overall good condition I'd get the window checked which would take a half hour to do tops,at least then you'll know whats wrong and if its worth fixin before the nct, bearing in mind that a faulty drivers window is a def. fail

as for the the injector,if theres not to much carbon build-up around the leaking injector(combustion leak),then its just a matter of removing the injector, cleaning the seat, the injector recess and injector body and fitting a new seal(and dont forget to fit a new bolt as their not re-usable),takes an hour at the most(thats as long as the injector comes out easy, which it will if the prob is caught early)

give it a quick once over before the test, lights, fluid levels, tyre pressures and seatbelts and stuff and it should fly through the test

    imo:)
