Straightening Front Teeth

    Hi all

I'm in my mid twenties and have decided that I want to get my front teeth straightened. The top front pair face inwards leaving a gap in the centre and have always been like this. Its purely an appearance thing but I'm at the point where I'm sick of looking at them! I seem to be getting more conscious about them the older I get.

Would anyone be able to give me any advice in terms of what the process might involve? Are we talking braces for years or something more quick and aggressive?

And also... gulp... a very rough idea on how much it would cost to get it done privately in Ireland?

I'm seeing my dentist next week for a check up and will ask her but I wouldn't mind being somewhat prepared for her advice.

    Thanks everyone

    SS

Is this something that has been covered a lot before or is it just too specific for a forum to answer?

if you want to straighten teeth you need braces. Veneers etc can give the appearance of straight teeth but you will need to have the teeth ground down which is a big risk if you are relatively young. Invisible "retainer" braces eg Clearstep or invisalign are very good with mild to moderate crowding , but struggle with some types of movement. would really need to see a picture! Fixed braces or 6 month braces would work but need to have brackets attached onto teeth so cleaning trickier. really need to see you to decide what would work best! allow 3-5 K for work. Any orthodontistry must be retained for ever. IE wear a retainer at night- I worried about this before treating myself but it is easy due to nice design of newer retainers. Good luck!
