also there is no back on it.... will it always be falling out on me or can i put one in?
and it is normal for it to be sore when my face is making a certain expression lol?

Treat it the same as any other piercing, salt water, dry well etc. The fact that there's no back on it sounds like it was done with a nose gun or at the very least they used a nose bone. If thats the case then you will have to be very careful or else it will almost certainly fall out, you will also find it difficult to put new jewellery in as it will probably be .8 or 1mm instead of the usual 1.2mm.
Finally pain can vary, some people say it hurts many more say it doesn't. Again I would say pain has a lot to do with the piercing method used.

Sweet jesus... a gun used for a tragus!

Anyways hope it doesn't feck up on you hun. May I suggest along with using boiled water (wait until it cools) and SEAsalt.. that you clean it at least 3 times a day with some Dove soap on a cotton bud.

Please DON'T use soap, DON'T clean it 3 times a day and DON'T use cotton buds.
A piercing is an open wound. Soap is not good for open wounds!
A piercing is an open wound. Wet wounds don't heal (3 times a day!)
A piercing is an open wound. Cotton buds aren't sterile and can leave fibres in the piercing.
If in any doubt how to care for your piercing ask any GOOD piercer or check a GOOD piercing studio website.

Dove soap is fine to use actually.. and obviously I ment dry it out after and not leave it wet. Fair enough on cotton buds I was just thinking of the ease of applying the cleaning agent in that particular area.

This is the information I got from my piercer who has 10+ years of experiance and spends about 15minutes explaining aftercare to his clients.

I got mine done in George's st arcade too, it was done with a gun and had no back either.. it fell out a few times for me and i lost the stud once or twice so I'd say get some replacements! I just cleaned it with salt water. Also it was kind of painful for a couple of days but it was grand after that.

I've been piercing for 8 years and was a Paramedic for 14 years so I've seen a lot of piercings and even more wounds. The guy who taught me has been in the industry for over 20 years and between us we never once recommended soap of any kind on a fresh piercing. Soap and wounds don't mix well. If you have a healed piercing and remove the jewellery you can often see the remains of soap residue. That same residue getting into a fresh piercing can lead to some disasterous consequences. Saline solution is really the only truely safe way to clean a fresh piercing.
I don't wish to cast any aspersions on your piercer and I'm sure all of your piercings have healed fine but as I'm sure you can appreciate it's very hard to translate 15 minutes of aftercare advice into a few lines of type.

Dove soap is different to normal soap!! It's unscented, non-irritating, for sensitive skin, PH neutral and actually works! My piercer nearly died when he heard the "aftercare" advice other piercers had given me. Him and his associates swear by Dove soap as a cleaning agent and I agree with them. Maybe it hasn't caught on just yet.

EDIT - The SEAsalt was ment to be 3 times a day and once with Dovesoap than dried out throughly obviously.

It may claim to be non-irritating but among its many ingredients are
    Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate
which is on the US EPA's list of registered pesticides, it also contains
    Sodium tallowate
which is derived from beef or mutton fat and
    Titanium dioxide
Which has recently been found to be a carcinogen, a substance that causes a cellular malfunction, causing the cell to become cancerous and thus potentially lethal to the surrounding tissue and ultimately the body .
Saline however contains natural sea salt and water.

Really? Because they're not written down here...

    http://www.unilever.com/PIOTI/EN/p4.asp?selectCountry=IE&language=EN&productid=3053409

Also... you're right and all these people are wrong?
Dove, Ivory, and castle soaps (Dr. Bronners) are good examples.
    Another piercer recommends Dove.
    http://www.vickirosepiercing.com/Care/
Once the bandage has been removed, clean the area using your fingertips and a mild soap such as Ivory, Dove, or Softsoap.
    Another one.
    http://tattooboogaloo.com/aftercare.html#whattodo
Use a non-perfumed soap such as Dial, Ivory, or Neutragena with water and soften the scabs.
    Another one...
    http://www.skinillustrations.net/care.nxg?nxg_versionuid=published
Thoroughly wash your hands then wash your piercing in warm soapy water using low pH soap such as JOHNSONS Ph 5.5 or DOVE.
    Another one...
    http://www.pdm.talktalk.net/tatts/html/aftercare.html
A mild soap (Dove, Ivory, Johnson’s Baby Wash, Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap) may be used to clean around your piercing.
    Another one...
    http://www.dannysancientart.com/body_mod_care.php
Wash your piercing 1-2 times daily, until fully healed, with a mild, unscented, uncolored soap (e.g. Dove, Dial).
    Another one...
    http://www.mindseyetattoo.com/care-piercings-body.html

Use soap no more than once or twice a day. While showering, lather up a pearl size drop of the soap to clean the jewelry and the piercing. Leave the cleanser on the piercing no more than thirty seconds.
    Another one suggesting soap...
    http://www.safepiercing.org/piercing/oral-aftercare/

    A mild, fragrance-free liquid soap—preferably anti-microbial or germicidal.
Same site but for body piercings...
    http://www.safepiercing.org/piercing/body-aftercare/

Dove soap can also be used.
    http://www.tattoolya.co.za/piercingcare.htm

Morning: take a shower (no bath ) with a p-h balanced soap (like Sanex, Dove, Sunlight,…) and rince it thoroughly .
    http://www.arkel.be/en/004/002.html
Anti-bacterial soap only in the shower, rinse well
    http://bodypiercingaftercare.net/aftercare-directions.htm

Soap no more than once a day.
    http://body-piercing.ie/aftercare.html
    Do Use:
    Mild Anti-bacterial soap
    http://www.bodyshock.ie/
or another hypoallergenic soap should then be applied to the piercing.
    http://www.wildcat.ie/page.html?id=17
Also you can lighty was the piercing using antibacterial soap
    http://www.blackangel-tattoo.com/en/

Soap no more than once or twice a day.
    http://www.celtclanink.com/index.php/celtclan-ink-tattoo-removal-ireland/body-piercing-wicklow-dublin-arklow

And finally words from our Moderator Will......
*clean off the crusties that have formed in or around the piercing with some anti bacterial soap. (I find using a Q-tip quite helpful sometimes) However don't force them off, if it doesn't come off after a soak removing them will agitate the piercing more.

Not the best examples to use to win an argument! Half of the quotes say hypo-allergenic or anti-bacterial, Dove is neither. I can quote twice as many sites that don't use soap as an aftercare.
There will always be differences in peoples attitude to piercing and tattoo aftercare, just as there are differences to peoples attitude to piercing and tattooing. Providing you follow a good, tried and tested routine that has been recommended and explained to you by your piercer/ artist, then your piercings/ tattoos should be fine.
I fear we've strayed too far from the purpose of the thread. A person asked a simple question and we have bamboozled them with our own petty he said/ she said squabbles. For this, Loike, I apologise.
To get back to your original post, now that you've said it was a gun. Clean it using a method You're happy with. If you can, get it checked by a reputable piercer. They may insert a different piece of jewellery for you and have them take a look at the tragus itself. Use of a gun can "break" the cartilage, which could explain the pain you're experiencing.

I actually lol'd... WE? You started this whole "squabble" so I felt the need to defend my beliefs. I was just proving to you that plenty of qualified people do recommend Dove soap. Not saying everyone would.. I don't see where I mentioned that! I could have kept going with more websites but I got bored. And also I was proving to you that you CAN use certain types of soap, not just Dove hence why antibacterial SOAP etc was thrown in there.
People can have different ways of doing things you know. Next time you feel like attacking someones advice do some research yourself ok!
Gah Dove is hypoallergenic actually. Once again... RESEARCH!

first off, i was told that allowing shampoo to rinse over my piercing while having a shower would be a good way of cleaning it, as well as the spray afterwards. i thought this was really bad advice but it was from someone in wildcat/celestial ring, who i would usually trust without a shadow of a doubt! personally i only ever use saline solution to clean, but it just goes to show that everyone will have their own ways. what works for some wouldnt for others, so i wouldnt bother trying to prove either point- there'll always be someone contradicting it.

as for getting the tragus done with a gun- and in georges arcade
my friend ended up in a&e to get hers dislodged from her swollen ear after getting hers done there! its really not worth the risk- just for future reference. a trip to a&e will cost more than going to a proper studio! lecture over! :o

keep a very close eye on it! dont over clean it and try not to snag it or you'll risk more swelling. it is normal for it to be a bit 'tight', for want of a better word, when you smile etc. do some slightly warm saline soaks on it and dry it after this. keep your hair tied up so it doesnt pull the piercing and your hair can also transfer dirt too and get it infected.

oh and keep your hands away!! if you have to touch it for cleaning or whatever- wash your hands first! with dove soap if you wish! :p
