Barcelona in mid December - Accomodation

Hi if anyone has been to Barcelona could you please post any recommendations on where best to stay for 5 days on a low budget with Christmas around the corner. The person I am travelling with refuses to stay in a hostel as they assume it will mean sleep deprivation! So can anyone that has been there or intend going there have any suggestions on the next best step up from a hostel that is affordable!! Back in May I booked the 2*Acta Antibes Hotel in Barcelona. The reviews on Tripadvisor were o.k Was surprised how expensive accommodation is and usually breakfast in not included in the price. However, never made it as there was a sudden death in the family. I also had considered the Marina Apartments, but there was no availability for my particular dates.

Hi I can recommend the Hotel Urquinaona I stayed there at start of Sept, good deal and lovely breakfast and in a quiet safe area.

i booked an apartment before with www.pillowapartments.com and it worked out far cheaper then a hotel. best of luck.

The jordi alberg , fantastic spot, very quiet after 11 as the whole place goes out together then.
