    Hey all,

I've a friend who's considering getting their company vehicles wrapped and is looking for a few quotes for same. Any of you that know of companies that do this (it's been posted here quite a few times) could you please post same here?

    Thanks!

Ivan at www.positivesigns.ie does them iirc.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

    Adventure signs in D12 http://www.adventurebranding.ie/index.php

    AB Signs in Naas http://www.absigns.ie/

most good sign companies do them but they don't come too cheap.

Don't just go off pricing, have a look at their work as well.

In my experience with branding, you get what you pay for. Cheapest job will probably not last as well as the most expensive job, and will look cheap.

From the ones listed above I've used 3-Rock, Adventure signs, Universal Graphics and Autoflair - and another one off Greenhills Road in Tallaght that I can't remember the name of, nor would I recommend them.

Universal Graphics did a huge job for me, at a great price, and nearly 5 years down the line the branding that was only supposed to be for 4 years still looks very good. If there are enough vehicles they'll sort out somewhere local to do the wraps rather than taking them to Monaghan.

3 Rock did a very good job on a van, but it's the only one they ever did for me as I wasn't overly happy with the service. Similar to Adventure signs, but our sister company does use them a lot.

The guys I use most are Autoflair as they are local to our office, but more importantly the quality and service are fantastic. Probably the most expensive of the ones I've used, but I know is going to be a good job and if there is anything wrong (like a couple of words being spelt wrong, even after being proof read by 3 people) then they'll go out of their way to rectify it.

I've seen the work Revolution did for the Audi Centre, and it looked very good. Can't imagine the Audi Centre would put up with anything substanddard so they must be good, but I've never used them.

Think there is also Bee Signs and Vee Signs around the Naas Road area if you are getting loads of quotes, but it's been years since I used either of them.

I have gotten about 4-5 cars wrapped over the last 10 years and Ive always used Adventure Branding. A couple of other people I know have used them as well and have been very happy with the service. However it is very true what someone else said, go and do it the cheap way and it ends up looking very shabby very quickly.

I go to UK alot. Got a few vehicles done in Manchester by Butler Sinage. Half the price of quotes i got here but that was when sterling rates were lower than now. Very happy with work carried out and after care service.

Nah - further up in the Hibernian Industrial Estate (I think it's called).

Had to take a Movano to them so they could measure one panel. Left me standing around for 20 odd minutes (after I'd called to say I was on the way) for a guy to spend 20 seconds with a tape measure. Could have done that myself and sent them the measurements.

Then took them 3 days to apply 2 graphics to one panel on each side of the van.

Could have e-mailed the logo to my normal guys, who'd have mailed me back the layout for approaval. Application for that sort of thing would have been done in an hour.

    Ba-dum-tsch!!

So general question about wrapping - is it damaging to the paintwork underneath or does it protect. In other words if you had a car wrapped for 4 to 5 years and then took the wrap off would it look as good as new - or would you be ripping off paintwork with the wrap ?

    Good Question.

I've never seen a car that's had a wrap removed, but I've seen plenty of vans that have had graphics taken off.

Generally the area that was under the graphics is a lot less faded than the rest of the paintwork, and it takes a lot of work to get the rest of the vehicle to the same colour as the part under the graphics.

As all the paintwork under the wrap would be covered, I'd say it will protect the paintwork rather than damaging it. Never seen what happens to metallic paint as all the vans I've seen were non-metallic, but we do have a customer with some Panther Black Focus vans with a partial wrap on, so it will be interesting to see how they fair. Won't be back until 2012 though.

Interesting. Just wondering away to myself if you were to buy a new car would you be better off to spend money wrapping and leaving the wrap on for a number of years before removing it than spending money on metallic paint.

Yes probably, only ever seen a Van too and despite being 7 years old the paint looked like factory new thanks to being wrapped from the date of purchase.

Cant reccomend Universal Graphics in Monaghan highly enough, top quality finish and fierce helpful. Their portfolio speaks for itself.

If your car hasnt been resprayed and the wrap in installed and removed correctly by an applicator it shouldnt pull off paint. If the car has been damadged or resprayed / rusted its likely that it would pull paint off.

You would be looking at approx 2k dependent on veichle and the material you wanted to use.

Would have been worth a call if it didn't happen almost a year ago at this stage.

While we are here though, any update on who you went with MCMLXXV?

I saw this thread and had no recollection of starting it! It was for a friend who wanted to get company vehicles done. I sent him all the info posted here and I've no idea what he did about it since! :o
