Going by your Thread Title I'd say CPA is not as hard as ACCA, but harder than ACCA.

Seriously, this has been covered many times before and probably why it's not been tackled again in your thread.

Here Smcgiff do you mean that you believe CPA is not as hard as ACCA but harder than ACA ?

whiz, cpa is perceived as slightly below acca. cpa used to let you stagger your finals, whereas acca made you pass them all at once. chartered were strictest of the lot, as if you failed a few times you were disqualified.

as it stands , acca no longer require you to pass all your finals at once. so cpa and acca are similar.

exams aside, acca still have a slightly better reputation.

chartered was originally only an option to people who got trainee contracts, but now they are more flexible. there is a certain snob value to chartered.. even if most newly qualified are on the dole queue

cima is on sometimes preferred in industry.

You can be the boards guinea pig. Pass all of your exams and then come back to us and tell us how easy it was

Have another look at your thread title.

As a general rule members and students are biased, so you'll not get a subjective view here.

ACCA is far to expensive. It is such a shame they put it this way. There are many talented students who can't afford to continue their studies with ACCA. Shame!

    Are you serious?

    Initial Registration £69
    Subscription £69
    Exams/exemption fees £55-£81

This basically pays for the exam centre costs, invigilators, examiners, markers, admin staff, and cost of printing and distributing papers.

If you have an aptitude for accounting you will figure out how to raise a few quid to sit the exam! Or maybe do up a cost-benefit analysis.. sit the exam vs remain unqualified.

Plus, once qualified, ACCA subs are much much less than ACA or CPA
